Murmuration

NaPoWriMo Day 6
Poetry form: Ekphrastic
(from the POV of a bird in a flock)

Follow, I must, and flap
my wings – one with the wind
that sings of how it has always been
free. Can one ever be?
An epitome of liberty, I soar
again and again, once more.
Unfettered by the idea of sin,

my delights have never been
less than more or more than less
of what is just, what is fair.
And as I slice through the air
with my swarm of gloom and gleam
my wings are one with the wind.

Before the Kiss

NaPoWriMo # 2
Poetry form: The Marianne (Pentastich)

“Okay,” said she,
“If you promise you will
always, always let me be free,
I will let you
kiss me.”

“Promise,” said he,
“Never, never shall I
use love to hopple you to me.
Now, pucker up
baby.”

Break free
of the limits
you have set for yourself.
The only one who can save you
is you.

Love Affair

NaPoWriMo Day #18
Poetry form: Double Tetractys

There
she goes
once again
ignoring life
as she falls in love with another song.

This fleeting love affair however brief,
is the only
time she feels
truly
free.

The World As You See

Form of Poetry : Etheree

Black
Or white –
Choose one box.
Boom! You are done.
You can rest in peace,
Safe within your straight lines.
But those who cannot decide
can drift – as if lost, as if free –
in the infinite grey galaxy
of dubious doubts and uncertainty.
